Sheet Film

Fine art photography using large format sheet film in antique cameras, vintage cameras and DIY cameras.

Using photographic paper instead of the glass plates that would have been used originally in the cameras from c1900 opens up interesting image making possibilities that I am enjoying exploring.

The challenge is that with film the speed (ISO) requires a fast shutter speed, so the camera needs a sprung shutter (maybe a guillotine shutter). I use Thornton Pickard roller shutters to get speeds of 1/30 to 1/125s
